FAQs

What Would You Like to Know?

How long should I stay off the new asphalt?

Normally, 24-hours is all that is required to use your new asphalt surface. In very warm weather, we recommend staying off the fresh asphalt for 1 – 2 days, as the surface cools and cures.

How long does an asphalt driveway last?

An asphalt driveway that is properly installed by an experienced asphalt contractor should generally last between 15-20 years. The key to extending the lifespan and durability of your asphalt surface is to perform regular preventative maintenance to keep your surface looking great.

What are the advantages of asphalt over concrete?

Asphalt is less expensive to repair than concrete and more cost efficient to install. Unlike concrete, asphalt can also be easily resurfaced.

How can I protect my asphalt?

Apply a seal coat two to three years after the installation of new asphalt. Check for cracks and have them filled annually. Cracks in the pavement will allow moisture to penetrate to the sub-base and will contribute to accelerated deterioration of the pavement.
